Fasting - Glow from God- part 1

Glorious Glow from God!

Exodus 34:30 ‘ So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.’

Good morning! Fasting and prayer changes your life! You begin to shine for God!  You are able to overcome your weaknesses, failures, negative attitudes, sinful nature and wear a Christ-like nature.  I challenge you to fast for 21 days! Wonders can happen!  Please try.  Joel 2:15 ‘Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly.’ Get ready!

God told Moses: ‘So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain.’ Did you hear that? Top of the mountain! It takes effort, perseverance, determination, commitment and endurance to wake up early in the morning and walk up that strenuous path to the top of the mountain – not swinging his hands, though, but carrying the two tablets in anticipation to hear God speak. He did not take packed food or water-can, he spent 40 days fasting and praying.  When Moses climbed down the mountain, after his glorious encounter with God for forty days without food and water, to face the people, they were astounded to watch the glow on his face! A holy fear came over them! Most important, they silently listened to Moses! Here is the point folks; there was a divine glow on his face, that made the people stand and listen to Moses. Glory to Jesus! When you live like Moses, your husband, friends, wife and your colleagues would stand and listen to what you got to say to them!

Look around and you see an array of moisturizing and beauty lotions to tone your skin, not only in cities, but beauty parlors have sprung up everywhere like mushrooms; not only for women but men too. Hmm! Weekends are spent either in the gym or at beauty parlors, while the churches remain empty.  We are ready to sit for several hours to do beauty treatment on our hair, face and everywhere; yet, we have no time for God.  Pathetic scenario! Is it any wonder that marriages are dwindling, relationship outside marriage are flourishing, and our lives are crumbling?  We have sadly lost focus on God!

Wake up and listen please!  Marking this devotion as good, is not enough, claiming yourself to be an ‘A class Christian’ is not enough, doing some kind of Christian ministry work is not enough, carrying Big Bible is not enough, bragging about your church history is not enough; GOD IS LOOKING FOR YOUR GOOD WORKS TODAY. Are you there please?

There are youngsters who still hold on to photographs, letters, phone numbers and other trash that belonged to their previous relationships.  One young man after an all-night service, was touched immensely by the Word of God, that he came and confessed to me that though he had walked away from bad relationships, yet he preserved their mobile numbers.  Warning! Cleanse your mobile today! Remove the trash! Wash it with His blood! Don’t have ‘Ash or the Khans’ flashing on your screen, put the Cross there.  Let Jesus shine through you!  Let Jesus shine through your words! Don’t feel embarrassed to speak His name. God bless you!
