FIRM FAITH
Colossians 2:6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
We arrived in Hyderabad, the new city where we relocated for ministry, as commanded by God. I moved in earlier with my maid and son, since my son’s school was reopening, we had very less money with us, you can either believe me or just scroll pass this portion of the devotion. I was invited to a School to share the Word with students and teachers, I daringly went with just enough money for share auto. Someone after the meeting wanted to buy my devotion book which was just Rs.25/-, I thought now I have enough money to travel safely but the person said, “ I will pay you later.” BAM – I tried not to show my disappointment, I returned home tired and exhausted because I had to take an auto and walk a lot too. Nevertheless, that Rs.25/- was denied for me so that I could learn hard lessons on faith and stay humble when I do receive the blessings from God. Hallelujah! Do not panic in the midst of trials and suffering, patiently endure the path until God reveals the way forward.
God did not promise to immediately change our difficult situation or remove the stress of relocation. He promised that His grace is enough to sustain us right in the middle of it. Human limitations are actually the exact canvas God uses to display His supernatural power.
I tell you, a new project, a new overseas assignment can be challenging, taxing and strenuous; however, replace panic with reading the Word which would calm you. Watching reels or scrolling randomly is not a stress-buster but a time-waster, it provides fake sense of rest while actually draining your mental energy. "Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable." (Philippians 4:8) Tell yourself: I am going to get a super duper job, I will be healed, I will be blessed, I will get delivered and I will be successful. Amen.
Apostle Paul said: Colossians 2:5” …..delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is." Our faith has got to be firm, sturdy, stable and strong; not wobbly and weak! The word "disciplined" (often translated as "orderly" or "good order") is a military term. It means standing organized, alert and always ready. In a new city like Hyderabad, establishing regular spiritual habits and structured routines protected our ministry from chaos. Regular Bible reading, separating quiet time with the Lord and meditation of the Bible are paramount for the growth of your faith.
