Disgrace taken away...
Daily Delight Devotions

Luke 1:25 “The Lord has done this for me,” she said. “In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”

Oh, your still not married, you need to pray hard , you lost your job, your husband is not with you.... are some of the insane questions people ask you when your boat is already sinking - such merciless people!. I guess that is the DISGRACE Elizabeth is talking about here.

In culture like India, if your children are not married or they don't have children on time, then there is pressure.  Barrenness is treated as a curse; yet, one day God took away that DISGRACE from Elizabeth, He would do the same for you too.

We need to remember  that this wonderful couple served God consistently despite being without a child.  This didn't stop them from serving God, they lived a blameless life and it was a direct blessings for their tireless service and sincere work for God. Say Amen.

Hebrews 6:10 says: "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.". God is a faithful God!

Personal testimony: The" 5 am Booster zoom prayer group" started by me during COVID lockdown was going through severe barrenness.  When a prayer group goes barren, you feel ashamed that your efforts are not good enough, discouragement kicks in, it is now that we need to persevere like Elizabeth and Zechariah.  Hallelujah ! I remember one day, I was the only one sitting in 5 am prayer, I could feel the demon guffaw; however, I kept moving on...

God is super pleased when you faithfully serve Him quietly and consistently despite low attendance or no attendance.  May be someone out there is learning RESILIENCE from how you navigate the dry seasons in your life. Just not success friend, you need grace, wisdom and anointing to make through the " wilderness season" with lifted heads. The silver lining here is God will reward your patience! Is someone learning?

Angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah in the temple, he specifically said, "Your prayer has been heard" (Luke 1:13). Your prayers will be heard too...God bless you!
