LISTENING EARS

1 Samuel 17:23 "As he was talking with them, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, stepped out from his lines and shouted his usual defiance, and David heard it."

David heard it ! God would make you hear/see before He launches you! He will stir your heart and pump energy and fire inside you in order to fulfil His purpose through you. Clap hands for God! Listening ears in a spiritual sense means having a heart that is attentive and responsive to God, through prayer, Scripture, and the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

David did not wake up planning to go to war. He was sent to the frontlines by his father, Jesse, on a very mundane task: to deliver roasted grain and bread to his brothers and bring back an assurance of their safety (1 Samuel 17:17-18).

David entered the battle field at the ‘right moment’ when the giant was shouting out with threatening words at the army of Israel.  Mark the words ‘while he was talking to his brothers, while he was already in the battle field to give away lunch for his brothers’, that’s when Goliath walks in.  Ah! This was no coincidence; this was divine appointment orchestrated by God! God brought David to the Valley of Elah! Hallelujah!
That was a burning bush moment for David!

Testimony:  How a city bred woman, who worked for a multinational bank before joining the Lord’s vineyard, turned out to be a ‘professional cook’ for kingdom work was because of ‘necessity’.  It all started when we were conducting ‘Fasting prayer’ in Bangalore. Not able to send around 100 people away hungry in the heat, I started cooking in my mom’s backyard by renting out stove and utensils.  It was challenging because I had no prior experience; however, God was my Helper, not once did we have burnt food or ‘oops’ moment. I was able to cook full south Indian meals.

With that experience, later when we started School, underprivileged children in Hyderabad ,  I happened to see ants in the food of the kids who came to our School.  That is when I decided that I should provide food for the children.  I cooked food in my home kitchen and would carry it to School.

The crowd got bigger and I started cooking in the kitchen and later I was easily able to cook for 100 children.  God would make you see the ‘situation’ and thereby empower and equip you for the job.
