Psalm 4:7 New Living Translation( NLT)
"You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine."

I'm not talking about joy that comes from
a 7-figure salary,  in India it refers to an annual income between ₹10,00,000 (10 Lakhs) and ₹99,99,999 (nearly 1 Crore). This range signifies high-level positions, this income is normal now and the "rat race" is for this income. People sacrifice everything: church, early morning prayer, Bible reading, fasting, family fellowship....for their plum positions and fat salaries. Alas, all these are perishable items! 1 John 2:17 states, "The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever". Mark this! Top notch jobs cannot give the joy that the Lord offers, say Amen.

In the above verse David says that "the joy from the Lord is greater than the joy of a abundant, worldly harvest." Amen. David was already king when he wrote Psalm 4, having tasted the throne and fame, he understood nothing is as good as the presence of God. Joy from God is incomparable!

Instead of being "hoodwinked" or blinded by worldly goodies, focus your attention on spiritual values and divine connection that has lasting impact. Did not the Lord say " I will bless thousand generations?"

Fat salaries are a bait, which tastes sweet initially (like nectar) but leads to entanglement and suffering, similar to a fish hooked on a line. Warning! If your job keeps away from prayer and Bible then watch out, this blessings is a bait!

Ask God to fill your heart with GREATER JOY, He is the Bread of Life!
