Job 30:29 “I have become a brother of jackals, a companion of owls.30 My skin grows black and peels; my body burns with fever.”
Above words highlights his extreme mental anguish and his feeling of being forsaken by both humanity and God.
Well, it was so difficult for me to sit and type this portion; however, I felt the urgency from the Holy Spirit to write this. None can be exempted from sufferings or failure, God teaches us how to navigate that path rather than avoid it. Standing firm during shaky times is going to be a tall order but remember you are not alone in this. "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you" is a promise from Isaiah 43:2 (NIV), assuring that during life's overwhelming trials you are not alone, and these challenges will not destroy you rather it would build you.
When I read the above words of Job I felt, ‘did Job lost track of God?’ These are the exact words I spoke loudly; nevertheless, the entire book of Job shows me that Job never quit praying nor did he move away from God. He was going through the process with God, say Amen. Let me show you proof: In the same chapter Job prays: 20 “I cry out to you, God, but you do not answer; I stand up, but you merely look at me.” Job continues to direct his cries, arguments, and pleas toward God, it was like a child speaking with ‘raw honesty’ to his Dad. He did quit his religion and go somewhere else , he was right there with his God. One particular sister told me,” I have quit idols and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ but my prayers are not answered, now I feel when I worshipped idols and did pooja, my prayers were speedily answered.” This was like atom bomb explosion! I felt sad for her because she had ‘zero knowledge’ of God. Many people have told me, “I quit praying because I feel no God.” But you know what Job said “Job 23:8-10
8 “But if I go to the east, he is not there;
if I go to the west, I do not find him.
9 When he is at work in the north, I do not see him;
when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him.
10 But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
These are awesome words of Job who stuck with God no matter what.
Dear friend, when you are a regular and disciplined in reading the Word of God, then you would be able to cross the storms of life, without which you will be swayed by the winds. Daniel 11:32 promises that "the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits".
Understanding the God you serve—His faithfulness, sovereignty, miracle working power and goodness—allows you to rest on His shoulders when things are shaky in your life.
