The "In-Between”
Silent Saturday

Matthew 27:62 The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. 63 “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’

Everyday is a battlefield, every single day is, if you don’t understand this, you will walk through it carelessly and face consequences. I am teary eyed as I write this portion, when people betray you and loved ones work behind your back, the pain is unbearable.  Let this devotion awaken your spiritual eyes! You will face arrows that you did not cover yourself! Caveat!

Look at the above scripture where we see chief priests and Pharisees working relentlessly to damage and destroy the reputation of the Lord Jesus Christ, despite the glory they witnessed at the cross. A group of people will be digging your grave even after they know your testimony, your life and your good works. It sounds weird right? What wrong did Jesus do for these guys to so vehemently oppose Him? Answer is ENVY against Jesus! When I was seriously and vigorously working for the Lord, demons were working against me through people closely connected with me, which did affect, harm and immensely disturb me – therefore stay alert!  They are calling Jesus ”deceiver”! Imagine! Always be alert of the people around you, speak less, pray more…..

The disciples had expected Jesus to redeem Israel, but he was dead and buried. They spent the day hiding behind locked doors, fearful that they would be the next targets of the authorities. It was stark silence before Easter. There was no word from heaven, no miracles, and no clear way forward.

The "In-Between” is always eerie and scary! The worst has already happened, the promise has been made but yet to be seen…. So our job is now to walk with faith, keeping His words in our heart.  Say Amen.

The disciples couldn't see Sunday coming, yet the women still prepared their spices (Luke 23:56). They acted on their love for Jesus even when they didn't understand the plan.

God has invested in your life with education, skills, experience and knowledge not to wait for the fog to clear but be courageous and confident to work while it is still dark. Did not God say, 'my Word is a light to your path and a lamp to your feet?' Let me give you an illustration: When aircraft fly inside clouds or fog, they fly under "instrument rules", Instrumental Flight Rules (IFR), this is based on radio beacons, waypoints and airways, as you can see on the chart. It doesn't matter whether the visibility is reduced (at night) or totally blocked (in a thick cloud), this mode of flying simply assumes the crew has no external visual reference, they fly solely using indications given by on-board instruments. Likewise friends, when your path looks blurred and misty , you need to have the RULE BOOK with you and follow instructions so that you arrive safely.
