300 IS ENOUGH

Judges 7:6 Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.
7 The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.

Bringing water to the mouth with one hand allowed these men to keep their eyes on their surroundings and their weapons ready, whereas the kneelers were more vulnerable to a surprise attack. In this posture, they remained alert, constantly watching for any surprise attack. Their shields were already in position and they could instantly pick up their spear or sword and have it ready to use. There was no possibility of the enemy taking them by surprise.

Only 300 of Gideon’s men passed this second test, but now those 300 were facing 135,000 Midianites. God’s math is incredible! God is looking for vigilant Christians rather than visionless, lazy Christians. Anybody listening? 

We have a battle to fight everyday! God knew much in advance that the battle is going in to be tough where they had to fight under the greatest discouragements, inconveniences and struggle. God personally got involved in the selection process and also gave them the test and three hundred men who lapped water like the dog were selected. God is looking for chasers not dozers! God is looking for Christians who would go to church at any cost rather than give silly excuses and bunk the House of God.

What the parents need to do today is to pray for their children that would save them from future crisis. Amassing wealth and buying properties is secondary, taking care of the family, children and sitting with them in family prayer is key to subvert and sabotage the plans of the enemy against your children. If not they would one day come to you and say:

•    Mom, I am pregnant (before marriage)
•    Dad, I am gay
•    Mom, I am lesbian
•    I am in a live-in relationship

Did you know at times your hard prayer and painful groans may not bring you whopping success, but it would help you go through the path of suffering and sudden attacks? For a small head ache, people give up fasting, slight disturbance shatters them and a small tremor baffles them! These are clear pointers to lack of prayer! If you are looking for an easy way out: to divorce and find another partner rather than pray hard to save the marriage, if you want to get into easy EMI rather than wait, save and buy, if you want to give up rather than persevere and win-then this message may not interest you. I am talking to prayer warriors, conquerors and fighters! If you are in hot pursuit to win and get healed, then read! Don’t rush to the doctor for the slightest ache, look unto Him!

May be you are not getting the support from the team, you are sidetracked and ignored; whatever, don’t give up, continue until you come to completion. The 300 army men were hungry, thirsty, tired and bushed out; yet, they pursued the enemies until they captured the two kings who fled: Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian. Greater the power of the enemy the more you need His power! The more the enemy screams, the more you got to scream out to God! Are you there?
