RESPONSIBILITY! / SHINE IN SUCH A WAY......
Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
The title ‘YOU ARE THE LIGHT’ sounds good, nice and exciting; however, please make a note, along with that title comes the ‘responsibility’ to ‘shine in such a way’ that the world may see our good works and glorify your Father who is heaven. Wow, I wish it hits someone out there like the way this scripture hit me! Every scripture of the sermon preached by Jesus on the mount are like missiles that hit us and demand for a change. Let me just expound this one…
As long as Adam walked with God, his language was good, but the moment he got distracted and joined with his wife to disobey God then we see darkness hover them, his language also became manipulative and they hid from God, Genesis 3:8 says ‘And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD. Friend, goodness comes only when we are properly attached to God!
We cannot say “ I am Christian, I am saved, I am a believer, I am the light’ but linger on in our old attitudes, when we do that, an unsaved neighbor looks at us and feels, ‘hey, what difference does this person have compared with the other people: he screams, lusts, gets angry, jumps queue in the petrol bunk, watches bad stuff, is forever on his whatsapp, does not respect elders and so on….Please understand it is not enough that your dp, facebook and your car are filled with Bible quotes and Bible scriptures, we need to live it out. Did not James say: James 1:22–25 we read: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Is anybody getting the lesson today?
When someone is stealing your parking space or the next door neighbor’s dog has messed up the front portion of your house, when the loud music disturbs you, it is now your responsibility to act like the ‘LIGHT’ and not behave like darkness. Flexing your muscles, tugging on the forehead, eyebrows, lips and cheeks, frown and the muscles broadcast a wealth of information about our emotional state, we need to control our inner tsunami and ask Jesus to give us grace to answer people with gracious words, Apostle Paul said: Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Did you see that? This is called responsibility!

Caveat! Applicable to each one of us! After accepting Jesus in our life, now comes the responsibility to walk like Jesus!
