Way of escape
Joshua 2:7So the men pursued after them the way to the Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.”
They shut the gate to make sure that if they were still anywhere in the city they wouldn’t be able to get out. Friend, the enemy thinks that he has got you trapped, but this morning, I stopped by to tell you that God will give you an escape route. Hallelujah!!!!!!.
That negative doctor report cannot kill you, that divorce papers filed against your marriage cannot cripple you, betrayals, job loss cannot trap you into a corner, God will find a way of escape for you. Amen ‘God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
Rahab gave the spies a different route , read : Joshua 2:16 She said to them, “Go to the hills so the pursuers will not find you. Hide yourselves there three days until they return, and then go on your way.”
Listen, she gave them clear instructions,
• . Hide yourselves there three days
• then go on your way
Well, these were words from the Holy Spirit, anybody listening to me? You need to discern the voice of the Holy Spirit and obey. You cannot prematurely move out before 3 days and expect God to protect you. Are you there??? Now the mountains were west and north, the Jordan was east and south. So she is saying, in effect, go the opposite direction of your pursuers. There are limestone hills and caves toward the northwest of Jericho with a height of 1200 to 1500 feet where they would find a place to hide. Glory to Jesus! Be encouraged my friend, when you are obedient to God and ‘obey Him to the T’, which means to obey Him completely, perfectly, and exactly, down to the smallest detail then He will be by your side to guide, protect, guard and lead you. Clap hands for God!
Recently when we were hunting for a place, since we had to shift from the present house where we are staying. We saw two buildings, one was small but surrounded by Christians and the owner was a Christian too and he said, ‘I would love to offer my house to a servant of God’, but the other building was very posh, big and in an upmarket locality. It was quiet tempting, but the Lord pointed us to the small house and said, ‘go there’. We obeyed. We knew there is protection there, guidance there, abundance there and most important God would be there with us. Amen.
Obey God even if it means loss and pain.
