Firefighter rubber boots
Ruth 1:8”Then Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go back, each of you, to your mother’s home. May the LORD show you kindness, as you have shown kindness to your dead husbands and to me. 14 At this they wept aloud again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung to her.
Naomi knew the path to Bethlehem would be arduous and that Moabite women in Israel could face social challenges. Orpah, after initial hesitation, chose to remain in Moab; however, Ruth chose to stay with her mother-in-law Naomi, even though she knew there are several things that she needs to let-go and several new things that she has to embrace like: new culture, new people, new city , new people, new surroundings and so on. Orpah chose the normal path as the whole world would do, to stay in comfort zone but Ruth chose a daring path that seldom many people tread – cause its lonely too….stay with me for a powerful Word today.
There is severe dearth of people like ‘Ruth’ in the era we live today which talks more about living in comfort, style and convenience. Technology like AI doesn’t even allow you to think, you ask and you get things in a jiffy. A generation of lethargic people are mushrooming all over today! Over-reliance on AI for tasks could lead to a decline in human critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, potentially leading to a "less capable workforce”. Anybody listening? While doing my 10th grade back in School, I would travel long distance on foot to go to my friend’s house who had access to many good books in order to enhance my essays and articles, since I come from a very humble background of poverty, I had even used street lights to study. My hard work, efforts and zeal to learn more surely paid off because God saw that and moulded me to be a ‘Writer’ today. Well, be like Ruth in order to live a life above normal, anybody listening?
