Senseless advice
Isaiah 19:11”The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools; the wise counselors of Pharaoh give senseless advice.”
The date of appointment to meet the Inspector at the Income Tax Office was fixed, an odd day of hindu festival; however, we got ready with relevant documents. Meanwhile our auditor was giving us ‘senseless advices and wicked counselling’ for this purpose. He was telling us to hide certain facts about our Christian ministry and the fact that we are pastors. He said ‘Government will not give approval if you say all religious things.’ Be careful who you listen to, at times even a person holding the Bible can give you wrong advice!!
On the day of appointment with the inspector, the entire office was filled with hindu priests and poojas since it was a day of festival. It was a shocking scene! It was definitely not a favourable day to approach for ‘ Christian institution’. After we walked into his cabin, the first question he asked was ‘what is your main occupation?’ BANG – I said “ we are Christian pastors and preachers with no hesitation.” There was not an iota of change in his expression, in fact, he had a beautiful smile on his face as he rummaged through all our profuse documents. As he was almost done with looking at our documents , I started taking to him, I said, ’sir, I had a very bad childhood, no food and no proper shelter, I suffered in my school days and I was humiliated, so I determined my heart to help the poor and needy, so I started Abide School with 100 percent free services. 90 percent of our students are muslims and hindus.” He was extremely moved and said, ‘good madam.’ We walked out having glorified the name of our Lord!
Hey friend, no fun wearing a big cross around your neck, we need to be a bold witness in this dark world. The Bible says; Isaiah 9:2 (New International Version) "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned"
Isaiah 60:2 “See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.”
Remember always that you carry glory on you and you cannot mingle with darkness or do what they do, stand apart and allow your light to scatter and shatter darkness!
Friend, be bold to speak the truth always, Ephesians 4:25: "Therefore, putting away lying, 'Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,' for we are members of one another." Did you see that?
