PLEASING GOD

Jeremiah 42:6 "Whether it is pleasing or displeasing, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God…”

At a time when I was groping in the dark to hear the voice of God about an issue that as a family we were praying, on a particular day, when I was inside the Church, God revealed His word to me, “ verse Jeremiah 42:10 ‘If you will still remain in this land, then I will build you and not pull you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up..’ Wow! That was like crystal clear! Whether we like it not we need to stay in that position until God speaks to us. Obeying God can be at times inconvenient, uncomfortable, unclear and difficult; however, we need to please Him in all ways. The above verse says: Whether it is pleasing or displeasing, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God….Amen. Period.

Moses prayed: Exodus 33:13” If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
Wow, that’s beautiful, ‘continuing to find favor with God’ is predominant, I pleased Him Yesterday should not be sufficient, our life should be pleasing unto God all the time. Are you listening? “Sister, I used to prayed the whole night ten years back” should not be your boasting, I am doing it even now is what God wants to hear.  

Well, the whole world is scheming, plotting and manipulating to please others! There are few who hang around the office with genuine work, there are others who pretend to be hard working but doing nothing. These are boss-pleasers! A bright, dazzling and cheerful smile is reserved for the girl friend whereas a frown is reserved for people at home. My challenge to you is this, stop fooling around, ignoring God and the church, set your heart to please HIM Monday through Sunday and watch Him bless you. You may have to forego your early morning ‘golden hours of sleep’ wake up and kneel before Him and pray, read His Word, stick and hang around with spiritual people. Cut out trash from your life, cleanse every area of your life. Please God! I tell you, the results would be amazing!
Colossians 1:10-12, Paul wrote, “Live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power and joyfully giving thanks to the Father. “ Well, here Paul talks clearly of what makes God really happy. It is not your money that He wants but He wants you to please Him in all that you do. Got it?

Testimony: At School, I liked my English teacher so much that I would go great extent to please her, I would prepare the lesson before hand to please and impress her. She started noticing me, this excited me; one day the teacher – who also happens to be the headmistress of the school – saw a gaping hole in the bottom of my shoes. She called my mom and discussed about our financial status and came to know of our utter poverty during that time and she made an amazing promise to take care of my uniform, books and school fees until I finish my intermediate education. She kept her word! All this happened because I took the efforts to please her! Are you listening? Just imagine the delightful blessings God would give you, if only you go all out to please Him!
