Maggots

Exodus 16:20: Everyone had gathered just as much as they needed. 19 Then Moses said to them, “No one is to keep any of it until morning.” 20 However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell. So Moses was angry with them.”

Well, let us start with checking out the highlights of the above scripture:

•    Disobedience is key that we see in the above verse, it says “ some of them paid no attention to Moses!” Did you see that? Now, people should understand that Moses was sent by God and Moses was just fulfilling his assignment by giving them the instructions, we cannot take a messenger from God for granted or treat them with disrespect. When questioned about prayer life, Bible reading or when believers are questioned about their absence for early morning payer or fasting prayer by their spiritual leaders, people get offended and they immediately stop coming to church.  If someone anointed by God is advising you, be careful not to illtreat them and come under the wrath of God. You can’t push the button when you are assigned to them!  When you reject the messengers of God then you are rejecting God!

•    Pride: It is pride that is making people to take things into their own hands and not follow instructions.  When you don’t follow instructions and guidelines, the end result would be disaster. Hear me please! We need to follow instructions to the T! Anybody out there who feels ‘I know it all’???? Repent please.  Bible is God’s Word for us, obey, that’s it!  If God says don’t marry nonbelievers and people of other faith, we need to obey and not argue.  Do not be befuddled with the voices of this world that talk boisterously, submit to God and His servants and obey His Word.

•    Arrogance is to do depend on your capability and just dash away all other things offered to you by God. “No one is to keep any of it until morning” was not taken seriously. That’s exactly what is happening today, Christians are treating the Word of God too casually and carelessly.  The computer savvy Christians rely on snippets of information from the world rather than  true pursuit of God’s knowledge.  Why would Christians give little or no importance at all for Bible reading? If you think that your ‘life’ is in that Bible, then you would sit and read it page by page….

•    Finally our lives are filled with maggots, diseases, failure, rebellious kids and debts because we paid no attention to God and His Word.
