And let us watch out for one another to provoke love and good works. – Hebrews 10:24
When your boss is super-nice to you, then you don't want God. I have watched people come and weep when things are not good with their boss or supervisor but once the job is secure they would bid goodbye to prayer and fellowships. 'Fickle-minded, roller-coaster-life-people' they are. How about you?
You need to be connected friend, do you hear me? It's not about 'ME..ME..ME.. but WE..WE...WE! Are you listening? I wake up and pray so I don't want early morning fellowship, midweek fellowship or any fellowship is a dangerous life. Be warned today!
Bible says, "Consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together… but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Heb. 10:24–25).
I remember one particular wealthy guy tell me
'Bala, I want to build a house far away from everyone, near the beach and so when I wake up I don't see human faces but the sea.' How selfish, how atrocious! Recently out of curiosity I was watching an opulent , luxurious mansion in US that was out on sale, the caption read,' absolute privacy, you can live alone.' Crazy! The more you flee from fellowship, the more would be the security lapse in your life! The more you cut people, there would be none to supervise and watch over your children, your family and you.
When you don't put God before you and live you life on your own terms , when you become comfortable with bubble peace, this is called security lapse. Alert!! Yes alert! I wish I could say this 100 times! Alert! Alert!
I watch parents be so finicky regarding their children, when it comes to cleanliness and safety right from the infant stage; however, I find this wane as they grow into their teens! Why???? Actually, that is the time they need close monitoring, counseling and mentoring, but most of them say, either ‘leave them alone’ or ‘leave me alone’. How sad! This is when children get addicted to drugs, porn, wrong teachings and many other hazardous stuff; this is the stage when parents got to be extra alert. I repeat extra alert! Put them in church youth groups, have family prayer at home, spend time with them, go out with them so that they don’t look ‘outside’ and get bad stuff.
All the above could be avoided if we stay close to God and be diligent in our spiritual growth. Are you listening? Stay alert!
1 Peter 5:8 “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
