GOSSIP

James 3:8    But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. 9    With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God;

2 Corinthians 12:20    For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances;

GOSSIP IS TOXIC POISON, BE IT BOLLYWOOD OR HOLLYWOOD DO NOT WATCH AND WASTE YOUR TIME ON UNHEALTHY STUFF, BE  CAREFUL IT WOULD CONTAMINATE YOUR MIND. CAVEAT! I have just taken a scripture from Old and New Testament to emphasize the message today, because many Christians feel it is nothing wrong to discuss about a family; however, they fail to understand that it is not discussion but HOT GOSSIP. Whether it is true of false, it is none of our business to talk about someone behind their back, if there is a scandal may be you can pray about it but not sit and butcher the person and get pleasure out of it.

Let me tell you this ‘gossip’ is found not only in secular places but in abundance in prayer groups, after church discussions and in Christian homes.  One particular mother and daughter talk for hours discussing details about all the members of their family, it would be very interesting and juicy; however, there would be no God or worship in their conversation.  Do you think God would be happy with such conversation?? Normally, if you want to avoid gossip, there would be nothing much to about SO people avoid you. Ha! Praise God! The Bible says:

James 4:11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it…”

Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Leviticus 19:16 'You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the LORD.

You need to have an aggressive urge for change! I have a sharp tongue and I will cut you to pieces with it should not be your motive; instead, you should have a passionate desire to be like Jesus! Amen. I face a herculean task of bringing order in our School (Abide School) where there is a mix of all kinds of children: fights, quarrel, noise fill the air! Living in the midst of such chaos everyday drives me up the wall at times; however, I sow the Word of God every day during the morning and evening prayer and trust God to bring about changes. The Bible says: “The wise of heart will receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.” (Proverbs 10:8)

Exodus 23:1 “Do not spread false report..”
