Seek while He is close

Matthew 15:21 - Jesus went away from there…..

Don’t  think you will have million more opportunities and be careless! I start off this very serious devotion with this caution! My mother in law passed away last month in September and left a vacuum in our lives.  Every day before our church goes online for our evening service, she would call before the service and remind us that she was waiting and then after the service she would call to inform about the sermon.  She would appreciate and specifically mention points, Bible references and awe us with her concentration. If my children preach, she would immediately send them money through mobile and encourage them.

She was aged; however, had a strong voice and we were very used to hearing her call us very frequently.  Since we stay very far away from our friends and relatives, her phone calls were comforting; however, one day IT STOPPED, she left us to be with the Lord last month.  Therefore, treat people well while they are close to you, one day they would leave – are you listening?  Keep your mobile down , close facebook and speak with your dad, mom and elderly people before they leave you.

In Matthew chapter  1 5 we see the Pharisees harassing Jesus and his disciples about what is clean and unclean, though Jesus patiently explained to them; yet, we see them discontent and venomously targeting Him, so Jesus went away from there and entered  into the district of Tyre and Sidon, a gentile place.  I felt sad that Jesus went away from there…….they lost Him…..many of us are taking Jesus for granted and we are procrastinating with our spiritual growth with the thought, ‘Oh, I can do what I want but still Jesus will never leave me..’, this is the lie of the enemy.  The Holy Spirit did leave Samson when he disobeyed God.  Caveat!!!

A)    Seek while He is close

While I was meditating on this subject, the Lord reminded me of the verse from Isaiah, let us read:
Isaiah 55: 6 “Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. 7Let the wicked man forsake his own way and the unrighteous man his own thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that He may have compassion, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.…This scripture demands the following:

•    a)Let the wicked forsake his ways
•    b) and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
•    c) and let him return unto the Lord;

There is a threat involved here: While He is close! Yes, if you don’t fulfill the above demands then He would leave.
