God remembered Rachel

Genesis 30:22”Then God remembered Rachel, and God gave heed to her and opened her womb.”

Those of you who have been humiliated, mocked, persecuted, ignored, abandoned and forgotten for long should receive today’s word with open arms – there is a purpose for everything that happens in our life (good and bad). Stay with me…

Rachel became the second wife of Jacob under circumstances beyond her control, her purchase price was bargained and discussed by her dad Laban and Jacob; however, the womb of Rachel was closed for 20 years.  We see her pain when we read her words in  Genesis 31:15”….For he (Laban) has sold us, and has also entirely consumed our purchase price.”  Despite her beauty, Rachel went through lot of suffering, so friends word of caution for you here!  Beauty understanding and skillfully making babies out of the will of God.  However, after the babies parlor and all your make up tips cannot give you peace and happiness, pure joy and gladness comes from God. Maintaining your skin is not wrong but when you get obsessed about physical beauty then that is drastically wrong.

Rachel further messes the situation by giving her maid Bilhah to Jacob and thus is born Dan and Naphtali, which we saw in my previous devotion.  Rachel was trying to lean unto her own were born, she became more frustrated because the kids were looking at Bilhah and she felt out of place.  She cried more now and with a broken heart cried out to God: ‘Lord bless me, don’t forget me, give me a baby!’ God was waiting for Rachel to humble herself and totally surrender to Him, God now looks at a broken heart: ‘But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at [reverences] My word’. (Isaiah 66:2)  ‘God opened her womb”.  Amen.

What we learn from the above scripture:  a) Let us trust Him wholeheartedly and not do things that would delay our blessings.  B) You might have messed up your life terribly, it may be your: finances, marriage, life, job, education, whatever…God will not abandon you forever, He will remember you and open that which has been shut for many years.
