Genesis 27:12 "Perhaps my father will feel me, then I will be as a deceiver in his sight, and I will bring upon myself a curse and not a blessing."

13  But his mother said to him, "Your curse be on me, my son; only obey my voice, and go, get them for me."

Everybody makes mistakes, and, again, who hasn’t?  Nevertheless, mistakes vary in degree and type, sometimes you may have to pay for your mistakes for a long period of time, are you listening? So carelessness can cause severe damage like the one I am going to talk today.  Both the brothers,  Jacob and Esau made drastic mistakes, their parents made mistakes which the Bible very clearly explains in Genesis 27, so we need to learn our lessons through this word and not be just mere listeners.  I  was so burdened when I read the above scripture, so I share this with you today, the moment God reveals the ‘sin’ behind an action, you should immediately obey, if not the devil would send someone else to convince you to go ahead.   Jesus said: ”When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.” Matthew 13:19 Did you observe the words ‘snatches away”, yes, that’s what he would do because he knows the power behind the Gospel.  Wesley L Duewel says, “Delivering the gospel message to every human being is not enough, however, the crucial factor is assuring that the message will be understood and accepted. Prayer is the answer.” These few words sends us a strong and sound message emphasizing the need and urgency of spending time at His feet. Prayer is the key to unfold the supernatural power of God in our lives and ministry!

In the above scripture, Jacob understood that what his mother told him was wrong, he said ‘ then I will be as a deceiver’; however, his mother convinced him to go ahead.  He fell prey to it and it became a death-trap for him because he had to run, run and run all his life away from his own brother Esau.  Someone needs this word today, when you know that you are doing the right thing, stand firm for it, don’t be wobbly like Eve who gave in to the smooth words of the devil in the garden of Eden.

The Bible says ‘,Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?’ 2 Corinthians 6:14 Having  known the truth now, do not allow anyone to distort the Truth and trick you into marrying the wrong person. Are you listening to me?

Let me quote the words of Apostle Paul and wind up this devotion: 2 Timothy 2:19 But God’s truth stands firm like a great rock, and nothing can shake it. It is a foundation stone with these words written on it: “The Lord knows those who are really his,” and “A person who calls himself a Christian should not be doing things that are wrong.” Amen.
