Check in

Hebrews 12:11 “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. “

Check-in counters closes 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
Boarding gates close 25 minutes prior to departure at all airports.

‘I begged, cried & screamed, but nothing worked’ said an Indian actress, who was not allowed to fly because she did not come at the specified time of the airlines.  She was late.  Period.  She was not allowed to board the flight even though it doesn’t leave the airport for another 25 minutes, because the boarding gate closes 25 minutes prior to departure at all airports.  Rules!  Even though we don’t like that word RULES, we need to listen to a sermon on it today, because our lives are in a mess because we have failed to set our lives in order.

Recently I heard a pastor talk about his ordeal in his sermon, he was continuously pushing his brother to drop him at the airport who was cool and said that he would take care of it; however, due to the heavy traffic jam, the pastor was delayed because of the reckless behavior of his brother.  The airlines staff had a broad smile on her face but strictly refused him to board the flight.  Though he pleaded, he was not allowed to board so he was forced to book another ticket and sleep in the airport that night in the midst of mosquito bites.

Procrastination is due to laziness, carelessness, reckless behavior, shoddy attitude, stubbornness that refuses to change.  Procrastination will sabotage your success and tarnish your image.  Also as we saw in the above case, because the brother was careless and delayed in dropping his brother on time, the pastor had to pay the price for it.  Did you get it?  The entire team gets a bad name because of the sloppy, slap-dash behavior of one person.  I remember during a wedding, because one family delayed to board the van on time, a group of several people suffered and the joy of wedding celebrations were lost.  Did you know, some people love to wake up late and dash to work?  Your education, umpteen degrees go down the drain when you fail to discipline your life.

You can get away being ‘LATE’ all the days of your life, but not on a day when the Bridegroom (Jesus) will shut the door on you! Caveat!

Matthew 25:10” ….the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.” Scary!
