Title: Be fruitful!

Colossians 1:10”That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God"

Yesterday (December 27, Monday – working day) my investment:

Woke up at 3 30 am

2 hours Bible reading

3 hours prayer

14 chapters reading

1 chapter memorizing

Am happy!

Having given my testimony, now let me go into the sermon: investing our time with God is something to seriously consider with just few days left towards the end of this year.  Imagine if you had a plant or tree that is not bearing any fruits in your garden?? Think! I am sure you would not want that tree to occupy your space in the garden and waste that space.  What makes you think that God is cool about your lackadaisical attitude towards your spiritual growth?  Did He not say " The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."Mathew 3:10. Take this scripture seriously today and think where you stand in your spiritual growth!

Early morning today, God reminded me of being 'fruitful' and so quickly I wrote this devotion.  When I see students continuously being lethargic, careless and reckless, as a principal I feel very sad because I had invested a lot in them.  More over you cannot endlessly run behind someone who shows zero interest in spiritual growth.  Friend, serious warning comes today to wake you'll up from slumber !

We need to be fruitful in showing respect to elders, we need to be fruitful in showing love, forgiveness and mercy, we need to be fruitful in handling money and not splurge on unnecessary expenses, we need to be fruitful with the words we utter and also in our relationship with others. Pause today, look back and examine yourself: how much of Bible have you read, how many hours have you prayed everyday, how many days in a week have you fasted?

A Fruitful tree is a mere joy to behold!  Bring joy to people around you. God bless you!
