Simeon and Anna

Luke 2: 25”And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.”

Luke chapter two oozes with hope as two wonderful people: Simeon and Anna wait for Jesus in Jerusalem when the environment was dark and gloomy like the one we are facing today.  Simeon’s hope was based on the revelation he received from the Holy Spirit that he would not die before seeing Jesus Christ, our hope also should be based on the word of God and not our situation, anybody listening to me?

Is your marriage in shambles? Are you finances plummeting? Is your health deteriorating? Do you feel miserable and hopeless? Fear not! We have hope in Jesus today! Simeon and Anna did see Jesus eventually, you will not be disappointed too, if you wait patiently with prayers and fasting like Anna.  How does one manage to remain sane and trust God in the midst of deadly virus, train crashes, collapse of buildings, floods, blood, rape, pain and sufferings???? The world may go berserk but we got to trust God in the midst of mayhem and allow the Word to pick us up and have hope in HIM! Are you hearing me? Recently when I had to take a cab, I found the cab driver desperately and liberally spraying himself with sanitizer   and applying it all over himself, covered completely with mask.  His job was such that he had to contact many people night and day and I understood his fear, anxiety and struggles.

As God takes us through the labyrinth of life struggle, He cleanses us from all impurities and brings us out refined as gold. Job said:(Job 23:10)”When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Glory to Jesus!

Hope is what kept us vibrant, pulsating and moving during the innumerable problems and sufferings that we had to encounter in our ministry. During the very first year of our relocation to the new city Hyderabad, we had to face severe financial crunch that we had never experienced before throughout the past decade of our ministry. On one particular day we just had 32 rupees and we went to a provision store to buy rice and we asked him to give us just half a kilo, the man offered to give us a bag of rice and said that we could pay him later. We politely refused and picked up the half a kilo rice. It was the most darkest period of our ministry and we were walking practically blindfolded. What am I doing or where am I heading I did not know! I would be walking around our home just looking for some clue and a voice from Heaven! Silence! With grown-up children, life was just miserable! What kept us going was H-O-P-E in Jesus! We need to also understand the silence of God, we now buy more than 100 kilos of rice every month for our ‘Abide School’ , Abide Angel Home and our family. . God is our Provider! Praise God!

Romans 5:5 “ Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Memorize)

Hope does not disappoint!
