I am just not a mother of two of my kids but mother, teacher and principal for a huge bunch of students. No small job, though.  I’ve watched a five year old grow to be a teenager and not many are grateful students.  I’ve watched a senior boy who has been with us for more than  five years and consumed the best goodies from Abide School, frown and sneer when I corrected him.  The sob-story of, ‘you know all the hard work of dad and mom’ does not go well with children; nevertheless, we need to remind them.

In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses does a recap of all that God did for His people and now Joshua does a recap starting with the word, ‘therefore’  in the above verse, which connects all that God did for His people, from verse 1-13, Joshua explains the goodness of God and commands them; ‘therefore fear God!’

It is pathetic to watch FB, whatsup and other social networks zap the time of people like blood-sucker, yes, blood sucker.  What else do I call something that takes away your time with God.  Couple of days back, I went to watch a lovely Good Friday Cantata, a young girl sitting next to me, in the midst of such a lovely program, now and then was busy browsing her FB.  Unbelievable!

  • Remember the health, happiness and goodness given by God – therefore praise and worship Him.
  • Remember His protection for you and your family – therefore separate time for God in your life.
  • Remember His blessings and love – therefore bless God with your offerings.  Forget not His goodness.
  • Be grateful to be alive and breathing today
