Passionate Leader

Judges 11:12" What do you have against me, that you have come to fight against my Land."

We live in an era where the credibility of "leadership" is at an all-time low,  there is severe dearth for leaders who take their roles passionately and seriously.  Anybody listening?  Expansive understanding and a sharp brain is just not enough, a good leader needs a big, enlarged heart to love and lead his people.

A Leader with passion gets personally attached to his team and the role. He calls it "mine" and takes the burden on his shoulders and not shun responsibility.  We need someone like that to lead the people in this present pandemic crisis, where people are looking for leaders who would guide, counsel, encourage, pat their back, pray and comfort them.  We have had enough of phony, con men who called themselves as leaders( inside the church too) but had no concern for the flock.
Jephthah though from the roads, but the moment he was made the leader of Israel, this is how he addressed his enemies:  " What do you have against me, that you have come to fight against my Land."  Don't miss the words " my land", this clearly points out his sincerity, loyalty, commitment and how duty-bound he was! Awesome! Judges 11:12

I would like to talk about the vibrant, fiery, passionate leader Jr. Martin Luther King, when King was in high school, during the long bus ride back to Atlanta: the bus was segregated, and the black people had to stand so that the white people could sit.  His heart broke to see the discrimination and injustice meted out to his fellow black people, so he became the voice for them.  His father and mother always continued to support King's choices, though they were forced at times to witness the tragic consequences of those choices, including their son's premature death.  He died while fighting for the cause at the age of 39!  I quote his words: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

As a father, mother, brother, sister, teacher, lecturer, professor ….whatever you are, in some way you are leading people, be the light!
