1 Chronicles 21:17”David said to God, "Is it not I who commanded to count the people? Indeed, I am the one who has sinned and done very wickedly…

I got stuck when I read this portion, let me explain this to you, I just love this….David was acting too smart when he ordered his commander Joab to find out the strength of his army, though Joab tried to dissuade him but David was stubborn; however, God was very angry with David for putting his dependence on flesh rather than on God.  God send an angel and the people of Israel were being struck, read verse 16 “David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD standing between earth and heaven, with his drawn sword in his hands..”  It is now that David repented deeply, he fell on his face and asked God to punish him and not the people…God watched that! Are you listening?  Not shallow repentance but deep, sincere, wholehearted repentance moves God, now see what happens….this is going to blow your mind today…

This stubborn boy deserves a whacking but look what God does when David repents, God commands prophet Gad to tell David to go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite – the very place where he saw the angel of the Lord with the sword.  Wait a minute, it’s not over…… the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite was a special place because God chose this place for His Temple to be built by Solomon, son of David.  Read: 2 Chronicles 3:1”Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite….” Isn’t this beautiful?  An unrepentant, hard, proud, brash heart will not be able to discern the plans of God but a humble, surrendered, simple, God-dependent , God-driven  heart gets clear DIRECTION – no matter how big the project, business, building may be.  Read:  Proverbs 3:5”Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.”

When God spoke to me about relocating our ministry to Hyderabad, as a whole family even my helper at home joined our fasting and we prayed to God for ‘direction’ because my son was in class 4 and my daughter had just completed her intercollege then and was waiting for college admission – no small decision though.  God clearly directed us to Hyderabad and established our ministry.  Lessons that we learn today: REPENT, HUMBLE BEFORE GOD, DEPEND ON GOD, FAST AND PRAY FOR DIRECTION, then God would bless you beyond your expectations.
