Attitude

James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

Keep a humble attitude if you want God to elevate you, are you listening?  Remain teachable, approachable and be open to criticism, opinions and advices, after all we all have a long way to go.  Just want to share the shocking attitude of a young pastor who came to meet my husband and me as courtesy call and also get some inputs about our ministry.  Being a young man running a church and also aspiring to do great things for God and who is also shortly travelling abroad for his masters in Divinity degree, he was enthusiastic to meet us.  Well, it was just a short fifteen minutes visit but five minutes into the conversation, he was receiving calls and text messages on his mobile, instead of keeping the mobile aside, he started actively replying to text messages and also nodding to our conversation.  This was appalling!  Forget about our ministry, here he had two elderly people sitting right opposite him but he was doing multitasking of talking and texting.  Actually, I felt he got disconnected after we started advising him on certain issues, actually those were answers to some of his questions.  People love to hear what they like and want nothing more, this attitude shocked us.

When a person lacks discipline, manners and etiquettes, all the other things that we do for God becomes null and void.  I know there are many youngsters reading my devotions, so I felt compelled to write this article.  Your attitude means a lot and one single flaw can ruin your reputation, watch out!  In the corporate sector, your attitude speaks about you, so stay humble and simple because God dislikes a proud attitude.

Lavishly appreciate others, shower your appreciation on good efforts, seek guidance, don’t be stingy on compliments, make people happy , do not forget what you sow is what you receive.  Crush your attitude under your feet and be a good aroma for people around you!
