Storm tossed

Acts 27:14”But before very long there rushed down from the land a violent wind, called Euraquilo..”

Life is not hunky-dory at all times, there would come a ‘violent wind’ suddenly, as mentioned above and shake us thoroughly; we got to be prepared for unexpected calamities in our life.  Last ten days, my entire family had been down with viral fever and it actually started midway while we were in a train journey. Imagine! My husband was attacked first and as he was shivering, we had not carried any medicines since it was just a single night journey, a passenger helped us with a paracetamol, midnight I got attacked too, it was a nightmare, though.  (I am recovering as I type this message).

Though Apostle Paul warned "Men, I perceive that the voyage will certainly be with damage and great loss..”, yet, the centurion refused to listen to Paul but went ahead with the head knowledge of the captain of the ship, and rightly the storm did come.  Now listen, after the storm hits it doesn’t take much time for it to get intensified and batter us severely, the Bible says, the very next day it grew worse, I repeat, ‘the very next day’,  that they had to unload and throw away the cargo.(verse 18).  Do you know what ‘cargo’ means? It means money and their source of income, now that had to be thrown away.  There comes a time in your life when money, gold, fame, bank balance doesn’t mean a thing compared to good health, peace and security.  You may think it’s just a visit to the doctor, but some times that gets deeper, deeper and deeper and then the single visit becomes several visits until you drop out of exhaustion.  Anybody listening?  This message is not to scare you but to caution you! Stay alert, humble and always close to God so that you get the strength to face the problems.

Despite all the dangers, God sends an angel to Apostle Paul who comforts him and said, ‘'Do not be afraid, Paul..” Amen.  One godly man can be a ray of hope and light during times of utter darkness, so stick with the right people in your life who would speak words of encouragement. Acts chapter 27 has a happy end with all the passengers of total 276 being saved by the grace of God, (verse 44) they all were brought safely to land.  God bless you!
