Fragrant aroma

Ephesians 5:2”…walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.”

When I am with my mom during the holidays, we wake up as a family to gather for prayer; however, before the prayer the aroma of coffee would fill our home and we would relish it and then start our prayer.  This ‘aroma’ is just not about the coffee alone that makes it nostalgic for me, it’s about my mom, who made it……Many of us have awe moments of such fragrance that lingers in our mind, distracts us, comes to us now and then and takes us back to those lovely moments of fragrance…………am I right?

Ok, let me now talk about the aroma that God likes:

FRAGRANCE OF LOVE: WALK IN LOVE: Ephesians 5:2”…walk in love ….When we walk in love irrespective of the circumstances around us or let me put it this way, when we decide to love no matter what….then such love is an offering of sweet fragrance to God.   Two days back I had to solve a dispute in a family who were rushing to the police station to file a complaint against their daughter’s husband who had abandoned his wife and four children (the children attend our school and church).  I counseled them not to be hasty and create further mess in the family but to give another chance for the man to repent and come back to his family.  The wife along with her children attended church and surrendered the matter into the Hands of God.  This is an offering of sweet fragrance to God! Quarrelling, fighting, police station….threatening are not God’s ways  but quietly trusting Him is what God likes.

So, do people love having you around for the energy and love that you emit or would they say ‘good riddance?’  No fun praying the whole day with scriptures on your lips, your actions should reflect the love of Christ.  Anybody listening
