Wrong crowd!

Number 11:4”Now the mixed multitude who were among them craved more desirable foods, and so the Israelites wept again and said, "If only we had meat to eat!”

Be very careful of who you take with you during your journey, they can either dash your joy or make it more pleasurable, is anybody listening to me?  When the Israelites left Egypt, some of them recklessly held hands with some Egyptians and took them also in their journey to the promised land; nevertheless, along the way, they became a thorn in the flesh. These Egyptians are mentioned here as the ‘mixed multitude’, their desires were different compared to the people of God, instead of obeying God, they provoked the children of God to get dissatisfied with the manna that they got so easily without any sweat and lust for meat.  That’s the danger of freebies, you get bored with it and your eyes now rove for better things, the danger of mixing with the wrong people!!! Caveat!

After my experience of getting into an intimate relationship with God, I hesitate to get near chatterboxes and vain blabbers they drive me crazy, I prefer to take people who value silence with me.  After my salvation, I was still working with the bank then, I started having my lunch alone on the terrace and separated myself from people who were on a different wave length than mine.  If you call yourself believers and if you are still mixing with people who swear, curse, cheat and lie, then you need more of salt in you.  You need to look out for people who will pray with you, agree with you, pray for you, understand your vision, have burden for the lost and whose walk is worthy of the Gospel, are you getting me?  People who live just to eat junk food and make money only to live a lavish lifestyle should not even  be in your radar screen, they are vision-destroyers, caveat!

Mixing with the wrong crowd can have disastrous consequences, I have watched good students as they grow older move with students from bad background and thereby very quickly slip into the gutter with them.  Chapter 11 of Numbers is scary though, God gets angry with the people for rejecting him and  indeed the people get so much meat they become ill and many die at the place fittingly named Kibroth Hattaavah, which means “Graves of Craving” (Numbers 11:35).
