Nehemiah 4:6"So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work."

Even after we give our life to God and walk faithfully, we do have moments where we feel like “What’s going on?” Especially at home, work place etc. we feel like it’s all falling apart! It is sad to see misunderstandings or enmity in a family, between mother & daughter, husband & wife, cousins, father & son etc. The enemy targets the family as it is the foundation, and he knows, that if he can bring division in the family, he can destroy them completely.

After all that Hezekiah did for God, the Assyrians still invaded Judah, and he found out that the broken sections on the wall had brought the enemy in, for their springs of water; the first thing Hezekiah did was to repair all the broken sections ( 2 Chronicles 32: 4,5). Beloved, you have to repair all your broken relationships; we cannot get close to God or expect any kind of blessing with enmity, bitterness and unforgiveness. Sure, it is difficult for a family to stay together in Christ, but God has asked us to be the peace makers in this wicked world. Find out what is the broken section in your family that is making the devil come in; there are many loopholes through which the enemy comes in: hatred, jealousy, unforgiveness, anger, ego, pride etc., start repairing these broken sections. Only after Hezekiah did this physical exercise, he went on ahead with the spiritual exercise of asking God to save him.

The second thing that needs to be done is, post a guard! Nehemiah 4:9 "But we prayed to our God, and because of them we set up a guard against them day and night."  We see the challenges Nehemiah faced, as he was rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem; Sanballat and Tobiah did everything to stop him, yet he was not shaken. Nehemiah 4: 7, 8 & 9 “But when Sanballat, and Tobiah, heard that the repairs to Jerusalem’s walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.” The devil is not going to be happy with you rebuilding the walls; you need to post a guard day and night to protect what is yours. Ask God to guard your family, your relationships etc. day and night, so that the family or relationship doesn’t get divided!
