The LORD will look on my affliction

2 Samuel 16:12"Perhaps the LORD will look on my affliction and return good to me instead of his cursing this day."

So what is troubling you today?  Whatever, I said whatever, trust God to bring you out! Are you listening?  Many want swift money, swift healing and swift miracles, when that does not happen, then their spirit starts plummeting; however, what I would like to say is this: even when things turn worse or bad, fear not, God would bring you through.  Say Amen.  In the above scripture, we see that a man called Shimei curses David very badly:” Get out, get out, you man of bloodshed, and worthless fellow!” Imagine being cursed that way; nevertheless, despite this humiliation, David said,” and if the LORD has told him, 'Curse David,' then who shall say, 'Why have you done so?'"  Are you listening?

Isn’t that wonderful?  Only a heart that is wholly surrendered to God can speak that way, immature, wishy-washy Christians would curse God at the drop of a hat.  They would even murmur if the regular bus comes late or if the milk man forgets to drop milk.  God expects steadfast trust from His children.  Whether you get a job or not, relax – may be there is a learning there- yes, I agree about that financial stress that is involved in that, God knows it too, He is treating our heart and attitude through such afflictions.  This scripture is apt for this situation: Philippians 2:14”Do all things without grumbling or disputing..”  This single scripture shut my mouth today from uttering ‘why God’.

We experience a  whole gamut of emotions in our life, from intense joy to deep depression; the challenge is to handle both with poise and wisdom.  Anybody listening?  Just as you reach ecstasy when you receive your salary, you got to also be patient when you don’t receive it.  Got it?  Speak words of faith and thanksgiving like king David, learn to praise God at all times!

Proverbs 10:31”The mouth of the righteous flows with wisdom, But the perverted tongue will be cut out.”
