Father and Judge

1 Peter 1:17 “And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear…”

Do not take God for granted, He is your Heavenly Father, no doubt about it; nevertheless, GOD IS ALSO THE JUDGE!  Caveat!  Many people who said that they loved God immeasurably and jumped during prayer meetings had backslidden badly and gone back to their old wicked ways.  One particular young girl who attended our all-night prayer few years back and enjoyed the glorious presence of the Lord the entire night, was found talking to her boyfriend in the corner of the worship hall early the next morning, he was actually against her faith.  She did marry him and then got separated after few months, disobedience does not go unpunished.

Hear me out today please, you can call Jesus: Daddy, Friend, my Lord, Father….whatever…but see to it that your words and deeds go together.  Actually Peter addresses the above scripture to believers who have accepted Jesus as their Father and God, this is to the so-called Bible reading, Church-going, devotion-writing Christians – let your action match your words. John 1:12 says ”But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name..” Are you listening?

Now, after we become children of God, don’t we have to talk, dress, walk and live like Him?  You cannot dress like the devil and call yourself child of God,  every position demands change, are you listening?  When I worked for  Five Star Hotel and multinational bank in good positions, we were given dress code, I would be chucked out if I walked in like a freak; likewise, when you become a child of God, the Father expects His child to obey Him, listen to this: “do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you."And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me..” (2 Corinthians 6:18)

Peter does explain why you got to keep up with the position of being called ‘sons & daughters’ of God because God has paid a heavy price on the cross to redeem you.  Respect Him.
