Half truth……

John 3:2” Nicodemus came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."

Here is Nicodemus,  a ruler of the Jews, a member of the great sanhedrim, a senator, a privy-counselor, a man of authority in Jerusalem, who admired the great miracles of Jesus Christ, and said, ‘You have come from God as a teacher!’  The knowledge of Nicodemus regarding Jesus was limited, he failed to know that Jesus was God Himself! Ah! Half-truth is just not enough friend!  Jesus went straight to the point and said: "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

It is not enough that you are born in a Christian family, you got to read the Bible yourself, meditate and know about Jesus for yourself!  Last year 2018, I completed reading the whole Bible ‘THRICE’; however, I feel dissatisfied and crave to do more! I woke up at 4 am this morning, spend quiet time with the Lord and read the words of David ,  “I will wake the dawn with my song.”(Psalm 108:2) Look at that! He says that he would awaken the dawn, isn’t that wonderful? Such should be your love for God, crucify your flesh to sleep more, eat more, play more, browse more…and wake up early to talk to God and read His Word.  There are many out there hearing the sermons of other people for too long, that becomes entertainment sometimes, get revelations for yourself by reading the Bible yourself.  You think He would ignore when you do that? NEVER.  He would pour out His blessings on you, we lack because we reject God.  God is looking for your works!  There are many first generation Christians who convert from various faiths or they may be secret believers; yet, many stumble and stagger after some time because they do not grow spiritually.  Spiritual lethargy and carelessness are the main reasons for being stumped and stunted. Most dangerous, they fall prey to false doctrines and get into the net of the devil because they failed to study the truth to its fullness. Listen to what Paul tells us in Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

Alas, rarely Christians read the Bible today, they have time to do plethora of academic courses, get certification for various technical qualifications, but reading the ‘Word of God’ is pushed to the back shelf! Warning! We got to set aside time in the midst of our busy schedule to read His Word diligently and meticulously – not just read randomly.  Don’t treat God shabbily!
