Golden girl

James 1:25”But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.”

While I was teaching English lesson about P.T.Usha for class 6, I also learnt a lot of things about her which I would share here.  Born in the year 1964 in a remote village of Kerala, this ‘golden girl’ was identified by a coach when she was 11 years old.  She immediately started training for her destiny at 4.30 pm everyday, this is what takes one to greater heights, there are many out there who would jump like jackals for a week then hide inside their shells like a snail – inconsistency take you nowhere.  Just three days before the day of the sports meet , she hurt her leg badly, instead of skipping the sports event due to injury, P.T.Usha put a bandage around the wound and got ready for the ‘FIRST EVER SPORTS EVENT’ at the age of 11.  Besides being born in a village and from humble background , she was also very thin, so the people of her village were surprised by her commitment.  With her injured leg , she awed everybody by her superlative performance in all the events and won the CHAMPIONSHIP AWARD too. Phew! This is what one gets for tenacity, audacity and obstinacy! ‘GOLDEN GIRLS’ don’t get birthed without sacrifice!

Come on friends, arise and shine for God! No more excuses, let us be ready to do first aid, put bandage around the wound, if need be, and keep going – stop nursing the wound for long, anybody listening?  Some of us our licking our old wounds for too long and thereby forfeiting the blessings kept in store for us.  Keep going…..be it betrayals, rejection, failure, disappointments, sickness…..whatever, forget the past and look forward rather backward. If we do not aggressively pursue our passion and dreams, we would never be able to make it.  Are you there?

Let me say something before concluding the message, your ‘decisions, planning and action’ determines your success, without which everything is vain.  How much of the Bible have you read last year? Tell me.  Don’t expect magic, God is looking for doers not mere listeners!
