Wild love

Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments..”

Recently, we see a kind of craze among the parents to equip their children with various skills so that they’re one up above the others, be it: dance, singing, yoga, skating, musical instruments and what not, but alas, spiritual growth and knowledge of God is given least importance or nothing at all, God is nowhere in the picture, is anybody listening?

I met Jesus in a powerful way in my sick bed as a young mother, during the birth of my second child, when my world came crashing down – I didn’t know then, that God can shake everything in one single second.  Caveat!  While I was wildly seeking true love, I found a God, wildly seeking for love too, He demanded and commanded (not for gold or jewelry) “love me with all your heart and might”, this is mind-boggling!  I was all set to give Jesus a tight kiss and never let Him go, I write this today with deep passion, after walking nearly 19 years with Him and the fire for Him is hotter than before.  No one has ever pampered, cuddled and loved me like the way Jesus has done for me!  Despite my flaws, His love for me is steadfast!

I want to explain the above scripture through my life rather than with ten points, one cannot teach their kids what they have not tasted and experienced for themselves.  The Silicon Valley staff in America are dead-scared that their kids would get addicted to the screen so they have hired nannies to see that the minds of the kids are diverted away from the monitor screens to outdoor games; however, there’s a hitch here – the nannies aver that the parents themselves come back home and get their heads buried to the screens.  So, having tasted God and His goodness, my husband and I would encourage our children to read the Bible, pray and also made them sit through the prayer meetings that we conducted.  This would seem like ‘military training’ but did not God command the parents to do so?  My kids did not become saints instantly, we did go through severe struggles like any other parents; nevertheless, after ten years, the table has turned now, both my children have surrendered their lives to serve the Lord.  My son is in second year Bible college and my daughter, has finished B.Tech, MBA., after working two years for a multinational bank has now joined me in serving the Lord full time.
