Flash smile

2 Corinthians 9:7 “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. “

A tribal family had moved to Hyderabad for work with two little boys, their pastor had informed them about our school so they came for admission in the middle of the year, the kids looked very unruly with no school experience.  After much hesitation, I took them in, on the very first day, the teacher complained that the boys were whistling in the class and also jumping on benches.   I had to do personal training for about a month to bring them to track, finally they sobered down; they even started doing homework.

One day the mother of the two boys asked me, ‘please give me work to do’, I said, ‘we have our regular cleaners so no problem’; however, she did not give up, though.  The front portion of our main gate was uneven and due to the recent rains here, the place looked messy and slushy; she on her own started working on it, within a week that place looked clean and neat.  Perfect job.  Every day while she stood by the gate, she would ‘flash’ the most beautiful smile at me, which said, ‘thank you for taking care of my two boys.’  After that work was finished, she again stood by the gate and asked me, ‘please give me work’, none of the parents had asked me like this.  I was astonished by her grateful heart, that sweet smile and her pure love was tonic enough for me to work more for my Lord.  Is anybody listening? Do you give your tithes and offering for God like this?  Do you give God  first priority or shove Him behind when other expenses come your way? Tell me.  Some find excuses to not tithe:‘this sudden illness, this tuition fees, this EMI.......and what not!  We should never forget that what we earn, our job, our present financial status everything is from the Lord, so we got to give Him cheerfully.  When we help the ministries who are faithfully and sincerely serving the Lord, you are directly helping God build His Kingdom on this earth, so don’t procrastinate.

In this era of make-merry-and-die , the opulent lifestyle of people has consumed all their money which leaves nothing for God.  No wonder Christians have lost peace, joy and financial blessings; if you want the debt curse to be released, then you got to sow your offering for God.
