Make a comeback

Isaiah 61:4 “They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”

Rebuilding includes walking on rubbish, dust, rubbles and also using old broken stones to raise the broken, damaged structure – nothing is wasted, everything is recycled.   Rebuilding is not about stress-free, pain-free, dust-free perfect structure but it makes you wiser, stronger, patient, soft and calm during the process.

A 13 year old daughter of a faithful Bishop got pregnant and delivered a baby boy,  this was a great blow for the Bishop’s family and his ministry – tongues started emitting poison against him and his daughter.  To add to the misery, the daughter married after a couple of years again and that too ended in catastrophe which left the family shattered and humiliated.   The daughter after few years meets a pastor with 4 children from his previous wife, falls in love and marries him, now they are 4 plus her own kid born out of wedlock and that made it 5 when she started her life all over again.  Not easy though, because the kids were young teens and she had a great responsibility over her shoulders, she did a great job, though.  Now she not only has a huge family but also works as a senior pastor’s wife and has also made it on the international platform as a convention speaker.  Hurray!  Nothing comes without sacrifice, hard work and big leaps! Anybody listening?  Circulate this devotion far and wide, so that someone out there who is waiting for a ‘perfect break’ would change their mind and accept ‘broken stuff’ and build it all over again patiently.

Don’t allow that ‘disaster’ to destroy you completely, make a comeback !  Build your life back again! Are you listening? Would like to give you another familiar example here, the brilliant Yuvraj Singh, Indian cricket's wayward prince, was hit by fate's thunderbolt right after coronation at World Cup 2011, the shocking news that throughout the tournament, the champion had been battling cancer. Yuvraj underwent chemotherapy in Indianapolis, unlike many others who hide their ailments; Yuvraj posted a picture of his shaved head on Twitter, as he began losing hair during the treatment, that revealed his guts.   After making a comeback, Yuvi is now out with the book, ‘The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back.’  Don’t give up friend! Write your own victory story!
