Skillful manipulation

Genesis 27:15”Rebekah took the best garments of Esau her elder son, which were with her in the house, and put them on Jacob her younger son..”

It’s been 7 years since we started ABIDE SCHOOL,  I have learnt a lot of lessons during this period.  Why have the children arrived at this stage of ‘no father, no mother or both?’  Most of the time the elders are the reason, I asked one particular lady why she did not call me beforehand if she was not sending her children on the opening day. Ah! Bang came the reply, while she nonchalantly looked the other way, ‘I have no balance in my phone.’  She was waiting in the school premises for about an hour and she was making many calls during that time – skillful liar.  Her three children studying in our school are as manipulative and street smart like her.

I found what you sow is what you reap!  Good parents reap good children (there are exceptions in rare cases, though)  One particular guy was cheating his wife for several years, but then his wife was a habitual liar who doesn’t know the spelling of ‘honesty’, so no wonder she got a cheating husband too.  Perfect math of God.  Early one morning I was pondering how Rebekah outsmarted her husband Isaac with her ‘cover up tactics’, they were mind boggling, the younger brother disguises himself like the elder brother Esau and cunningly grabs the birthright; I am not doing a Bible study though, I am just concentrating on the subject manipulation here.  No wonder Jacob became a con man too with manipulation skills which he inherited from his mom, do you understand now?  Dad and mom! Listen! You got to be good and straightforward if you want good kids, otherwise you would get sleazy children who would outflank you. Caveat!

Friend, be surrounded with the right kind of people who think right, talk right, walk right and live right, let me quote a lovely scripture that would get stuck to your mind like it did for me, “brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.(Philippians 4:8)Did you get that? Flee from cheaters, gossip mongers and liars, I said flee..If you move with the wrong crowd, their life would certainly rub off on you, people fallaciously assume that it will not affect them. Caveat!
