18 years

Luke 13:11”And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all.”

This woman was not outside but inside the synagogue; yet, bent for 18 years, let me talk from a different perspective regarding this scripture, have you ever wondered what all she lost these 18 years?  Much.

I met a hindu girl in a remote village about ten years back who was unable to walk due to terrible demonic attacks; however, the villagers and other con men had swindled the family by advising them various dubious ways, nothing worked though.  I preached the Gospel to the girl, prayed for her healing, gave her a Bible and kept in touch with her and advised her to come out of idol worship.  At the time I met her she was holding the walls and walking, twice I went to her village (just only for her sake), stayed there and prayed for her healing because her life was in danger due to demonic attacks.  Despite all the help offered, she and her family continued to be disobedient and now after several years, she is crawling on the floor.  Imagine.  She could have embraced God and His healing; even though she knew about Jesus, she never wholly surrendered herself to God, there are many out there bent and suffering because of  disobedience.  Anybody listening?

People come to church, fire camps, crusades, prayer seminars, fasting meetings and yet go back bent, why, why, why?  They dutifully attend church but never determine their heart to follow God and His ways, they gossip about the pastor and his family even though they hear his sermon week after week, isn’t this atrocious?  This is because of  evil spirits within some church-going Christians which has kept them bent and rebellious.  People attend one week fire camp, dance, jump and sing; yet, go back to office without an iota of change, they go late to office, fight, argue, gossip, smoke, squander, lust; this vicious cycle continues without a break.  There is a gulf between want they hear and what they do,  I watch this year after year with tears!

For that matter, even through my devotions, how many obey what they read?  Your bent body may not be visible; yet, your actions reveal the ugliness within.
