Golden opportunity

Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment….”

I wonder what people anticipated while they read my title ‘Golden opportunity’, they are in for a surprise, though.

Friend, there is fear of loss of  job, structured life, health, a loved one, a dream project, and even loss of hair.  Hair is rinsed with Beer for nourishment and sheen; however, soul is left to rot.  Anybody listening?  Pause and listen!  We cherry-pick quotes of  Jesus as per our whims and fancy, to suit our occasion, the same Lord also said, ‘  John 5:22 “For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son (Jesus).”  Whether we like it or not, whether we are bothered about it or not, whether we care of it or not, we got to face Judgment one day!

We need to give an account of our life: the time wasted on Facebook, Twitter, chat, lust, pornography, anger, envy and laziness.  Young men/women! Hearken! Your carefully maintained body would be thrown into hell, if you do not pay attention to His voice today!  I feel like a fool as I write this message because I know and I know none would care; but still I blow the trumpet for everyone to repent!  Come out of every form of sin!

The Vice President of the bank that I was worked for before joining full time ministry, rushed back to India because his mother was admitted in the hospital battling for life suffering from last stages of cancer.  I was working in his department; I approached him in the evening and asked him, if I could come and pray for his mom.  Being a staunch Brahmin, he gave me a weird look because all of them were actually waiting for the end; and then said, ‘okay.’  Along with my husband, I carried the Bible and visited the hospital, I cannot explain the inner turmoil I was battling with: what do I say, what if lot of people are around the bed, how do I approach…….?  The mother was in the ICU ward and only one person was allowed inside!  I walked in praying hard; except me there was none in the ward!  It was a divine moment! I felt like stepping on to the pulpit in front of an expectant crowd! Her eyes were opened, breathing hard, but mouth, nose and everything were covered with tubes; I walked closed to her, introduced myself, held her hand and started praying.  After that I did something, I went close to her ears and said: ”dear sister, Jesus is the only way to heaven, please ask Jesus for forgiveness for all your sins and surrender your life to Jesus!”  The entire family including the VP were watching me through the glass door! None came in nor knew what I was speaking to her.  After the prayer I walked out, she died that evening, this is what you call as ‘golden opportunity!

I had this kind opportunity to share the gospel with many elderly as well as young people during the last stages of their life. I shared my healing and my change of life with a Christian family who were going through crisis because the wife was in her last stages of cancer; after meeting with me the entire family surrendered their life to Christ.  One week later the lady died, I was told by that family, that ever after meeting me, she kept talking about the love of Jesus and Heaven.  For a shallow person, whose heart is filled with the world and its pleasures, it would be hard to comprehend the truth of heaven and hell.
